Necessary Website Functions
Wix supplies technology for website delivery, security, and forms. The website also uses local browser storage to remember your Marketing choice. Necessary functions are not switched off by Reject Marketing. Read more in Wix’s Cookie Policy.
Website Statistics
Google Analytics helps BU understand website visits and performance. Statistics stays active under the BU website model, including when you select Reject Marketing. Google advertising consent signals remain denied; accepting Marketing does not change those Google signals. See Google’s information about cookies.
Optional Marketing Measurement
Meta Pixel PageView measurement loads only after you select Accept Marketing. It does not load on a fresh page with no recorded acceptance or with a rejected Marketing choice. Meta may receive technical identifiers and information about the page visit when this measurement is enabled. Read Meta’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Cookie Policy.
Your Website Controls
The first-visit notice provides Accept Marketing, Reject Marketing, and Cookie Settings. You can reopen the persistent Cookie Settings control to review or change your Marketing choice.
Accepting Marketing enables the Meta measurement described above. Rejecting Marketing leaves necessary functions and Google Analytics statistics active. It is not a “reject all cookies” option.
A changed choice applies prospectively. It cannot reverse information already sent. If Meta has already loaded on the current page, reload the page after rejecting Marketing to apply the rejected choice to a fresh page load.
How Long Choices and Other Data Remain
The website remembers your Marketing choice for up to 180 days in this browser’s local storage. That period applies to the BU choice, not to every cookie or identifier used by Wix, Google, or Meta. Provider technologies have their own lifetimes, and browser settings may shorten them. Clearing browser storage or using another browser or device may cause the notice to appear again.
Newsletters and External Services
The website’s Marketing choice controls the Meta website measurement described here. It does not control newsletter engagement measurement, an email unsubscribe preference, or cookies on an independent provider’s website. BU uses beehiiv for newsletters. Our Privacy Policy explains BU’s handling of newsletter information. beehiiv’s privacy notice describes processing it carries out for its own purposes.
External destinations such as the BU Bonfire store and social platforms use their own technologies. Consult their notices when you visit them. Your browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies and other stored data; this can affect website features.
